Product Description
317 stainless steel angle is an austenitic stainless steel coil containing molybdenum. 317 stainless steel is approximately twice as strong as austenitic stainless steel and also has increased resistance to localized corrosion, especially pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking. Type 317 stainless steel is characterized by a high chromium content (19-32%) and a molybdenum content of up to 5%, with a lower nickel content than austenitic stainless steel. The properties of 317 stainless steel are achieved through a lower overall alloy content than similar performing super austenitic grades, making it cost-effective in many applications.
